Women's Workshop: Making an El Salvador Stool
The Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for Arts & Crafts / Alta Loma, CA
The workshop is suitable for first-time women (includes non-binary) woodworkers, providing 16 hours of hands-on experience in the making of a three-legged wooden stool. Designed by Lauren Verdugo and inspired by Maloof’s own teaching of students during a 1963 trip to El Salvador arranged by the U.S. State Department. Each participant will saw, join, shape and finish an artful stool made of solid walnut.
